I think i finally wake up already. Instead of being sad and live in sorrow everyday. Why not buck up and look forward. I am going to make her regrect her choice of leaving me and go back to that guy. And a person can never change his personalitly so easily. Who knows he may cheat on her again and if that day come i just hope that she will be able to handle all those things and not break down..

Just wait and see i am not going to be deafeated so easily. After my army it is time to study hard and make sure that the desision to leave me and go back to that guy again will be worst choice u ever make..........

The first lesson that we attend in wuhan university.Notice that we draw the curtain,

becasue the cold wind kept on blowing in.

In china other than taxis this type of van is also quite commom.It is suitable

if u are going out with a group of friends. And the guy sitting in the van is the

owner. We took his van for a couple of times and i find that his fare is quite reasonable

In wuhan they celebrate the san ba fu nu jie and a stage is set up for a performance later.

However, the children took this opportunity to play on stage. They have rosy cheeks just feel like squeezing them. They all look so aborable.

there are many people playing there. And we have diyana who is arranging the balls.

Subject: My Learning Plan

1. Learning objectives
Through this Overseas Immersion Programme, i hope that i will be able to learn to be more independent and do things on my own. Also, it will train my adaptive skills because china climate is completely different from singapore. And the temperature varies a lot. When it is cold the temperature can drop until very low but when the weather turns hot the temperature can reach as high as 40 plus degrees. Now is a chance of a lifetime to experience this instead of just listening to how other people describe it. I can also make more friends and gain more knowledge by knowing the culture of this country plus the history of wuhan so that if people ask me about wuhan next time i will be able to answer it. There are also game about the china history like dynasty warriors which includes almost all the famous characters in the three kingdom history like cao cao, liu bei and zhu ge liang. In china i will get to know more about it and an in depth information on each of the characters. And the food is another challenge for me. I heard that they cook their food very differently from Singapore. They use a lot of oil and salt and the toilet is “completely ownage”. I must not waste my trip to wuhan. By gaining more knowledge of china, i will have a bigger work scope. Next time i can consider coming to china to work and applied the knowledge i learn.

2. Focus of Inquiry
My focus on this trip is to know the history and the living habits of the students in china. The reason why i choose this two is because i can only know all this if i experience and see it myself. In order to understand china better, i need to learn how to communicate with the locals here. Their accent is different from Singapore; therefore i need to pay attention when listening to what they say. Furthermore, the students in china usually stay in hostels instead of going home. They only go home during weekends. Some of them don’t even go back home, they only go back during their school holidays. China is slowly developing into a modern city. Next time we may need to come china to find jobs. Therefore, i may return to china next time to set up a business in here. In order to do so i must understand their culture, consumer behaviour and many more. For information about mechanics and electronics, we can always go online to check.

3. Questions for Investigation
1.How different is china’s culture from Singapore? Do u prefer the culture we practise in Singapore or the china’s way.

2.In china, the whole country is divided into many states and they speak many different type of languages although they are all Chinese. What are the races they have? In Singapore, there are Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian but in china what races do they have I really want to know.

3.Do you think by knowing all this culture is enough for you to use in the future?

4.What do the people in Wuhan usually eat? Is it the same as Singapore? I heard that the food here is very different from Singapore and i will definitely try it.

5.And the last question, how come the drivers in china are allowed to drive without following the traffic rules and they can also drive on the pathway where people are walking? Don’t they know that this is very dangerous.

4. Define three global skills
I would to learn the business etiquettes and strategies here in china. As china is slowly developing into a modern country, many business opportunities are available in china. China may be the next place where i am going to work in. Therefore, i must know their way of doing business here so that i won’t get cheated and know all the manners that i must have during meeting so that i will not embarrassed myself and losing business deals.

Learning how to be independence is very important as i will be living in china without my parents beside me because they always prepare delicious food for me and help me wash my dirty clothes. By being independence, i would be able to take of myself and if any problem occurs i will be able to handle it well and solve the problem myself.

The next skill i want to improve on is my initiative. I usually do not take the initiative to volunteer to do things because i scared that i will not be able to do the task properly. However China is a brand new place for me to train up on this. In china i have volunteer to help my friends who don’t know Chinese to buy food for them and translate anything they want to know in English to them.

5. Learning strategies
We can get a lot of valuable information from the tour guides in china. Whenever we go to historical site there will always be a tour guide to explain to us what this place is about and the interesting things that happen here. So whenever they stay i will always listen to them with my listening ears. We can also gather information from the World Wide Web or the library. By asking the local people here, we can also learn a lot from them especially the elderly as they have already experience a lot of things through their life. Interactions with the students here also help as we can learn how they study here and maybe adopt a few ways in which they study and apply in sngapore

Day37
Woke up quite early as there will be interview for the mini project later with Mr ma. Did my final touch up for my project and left the dorm for my interview which is at 11.30 with kangliang and diyana. When i reached there, there are only the three of us as others have already done their interview. The interview for the three of us went quite smoothly as Mr ma did not ask us much questions. After the interview we went back to dorm to slack before going to IT mall to buy razor mouse and earpiece. The first we bought is the earpiece. As we buy 11 earpiece all together, the shop owner charged us at much lower price. As for the razor mouse we also bought about 11 of it. In addition, i also bought a mouse pad. With the help of marcc and Benson, we managed to bargain to a much more reasonable price but the total amount spend for all the mouse is about 1000 plus yuan. After the IT mall we went around to shop for a while more before taking public bus back to our dorm.

Day36
Woke up very late in the morning, no choice but to go for dinner straight away. Went to the restaurant for our dinner. We ordered 4 dishes when there were only the three of us as we were very hungry. As we are waiting for the waiter to serve the food, kangliang and diyana brought their dirty clothes to the laundry. They washed a total of 3 t-shirts, 2 jeans and 2 shorts which costs only 40 yuan. It is definitely cheaper than singapore. After dinner we went back to have meeting with Mr ma and went back to dorm to rest for the day.

Day35
Woke up and looked at my phone......7.50 OH NO late already. We are suppose to meet at 8 a.m. Today we will be having Outward Bound activities. Seeing that time is running short, we have no choice but to share the toilet among the four of us. We brush our teeth and washed our face together. Haha what a scene, kangliang brush his teeth at the toilet bowl hope he don't drop in. After washing up, we quickly got dressed up and rushed towards our destination.
To my amazed, there were still a lot of people not there yet. At first i thought that my group will be last one to arrive there. But the china students arrived very early i felt bad that they have to wait for us for so long. Then Np students from another course also came to join us for the OBS. When almost everyone came the instructor there started out by playing some games with us. Looks like my luck is not good when playing this kind of game because i lost both of it one with jia hui and another one with kangliang. The punishment for losing is to sing a song and doing half squat. The song that me and jai hui sang was twinkle twinkle little lol joke right haha. After the game we were divided into 4 groups and started our activities. The first thing we have to do is do think of a name for our group and design a flag for our team. Then we have to think of a cheer for our team. After brain storming, many ideas came up but we choose AFRO in the end because we all thought that it is very unique and it represents our group leader stefen. Jit siong drew a picture of stefen on the flag. It really looked like him then the students from other course drew the design of our team. It look like it is done by a professional. The cheer was design by a girl from mde. The cheers goes like this "one, cant hear you ah, two, shout louder ah, three, all together now, one two three four, AFRO AFRO AFRO, all the way we like our hair we love our hair we love our curly hair, our hair our hair our sweet sweet hair". Not bad right....!Then we have to present our cheer to the rest of the groups. All the groups did their cheers to their best and i enjoyed all of them.
After that we proceeded to our activities. The first one that we play was to make a tanker wheel using 32 pieces of newspaper. We have to think of a way to join all these newspaper together. Plus it must also fit all of us. We roll the newspaper into a string and use it to tie the newspaper together. By displaying good team work we finish our tanker wheel faster than the rest of the group. Then the competition started at first we are leading but our wheel start to fall apart. Despite our effort of trying to repair it we could not catch up to the first group. We came in the second, however, we are already very happy because we know that we have put in our best and have no regret.
At about 11 plus, we break to have our lunch. Me kangliang and diyana went to kfc for lunch. Slack there until it is time to go back. I was so tired that i fall asleep there. The first afternoon activity that we have is to hold the person when he fall off from a platform. The person's back is facing us and hands kept close to his or her body. In order to ensure our safety, the instructor tie our hands and legs so that we won't spread them and hit the others when we are falling. This activity requires a not of trust in your friends. You must believe that they will be able to catch you when u fall off. As some of my friends are even heavier than me we need a of people to support him. When it is my turn to fall, i was a bit scared at first but i trust my friends i just fall off. SUCCESS......The next activity, we need to climb up a series of stairs before we reach a bridge where need to jump across to another platform which is about 1.2inch length and then drop off from the platform. The feeling of dropping off the platform is so shiok, all the air rushing at your face. The last activity that we will be doing is rock climbing. As there are too many people queuing up for the rock climbing, i decided to skip it.
Today is definitely a day whereby people can train up their courage and trust in other people. I find today's activities very meaningful.

Day34
As i will be having APPG remedial today, i woke up earlier to prepare for my class. When i reach the class with my friends, there were already many people there. After Mr chua went through with us chapter 6 and 7 i finally get a better idea of what it is about. Afternoon lesson is not compulsory so we never go. We went to the school canteen to have our lunch.At night we went to the fake kfc again for dinner. I am starting to get sick of it. I miss my mother's cooking and the food in Singapore. Beside the "KFC", there is a KTV. Instead of hearing nice music from there, we can only hear an awful voice and my friends and i burst out laughing. When that person continue to sing we slowly got irritated by him. When back to dorm to study for APPG lab test 2.

I woke up at 4 plus, shocked that i sleep until so late. Went for dinner straight away because we did not eat anything for the pass few hours and my stomach is grumbling. We went to the nearby restaurant to have our dinner ordered steam egg, potato chicken plus cabbage. I like the steam egg the best because it really taste like the one i had i Singapore. After dinner we went to buy butter bread for our supper. Just nice today is Ernest's mother birthday so he bought a cake and he share it with us. He put the cake in front of the webcam and celebrate with his mum. How nice of him!!

Day32
Today is a free and east day. Slept until late in the afternoon before washing up and get ready to go hu quan night market. As our budget is very tight, we decided to take a bus there instead of taking van. If we take a van there it will cost us about 30 yuan for the 4 of us. But if we take bus, it will cost us like 2 yuan for each person. Luckily the bus that we took is quite empty so we can seat down. Our stomach are grumbling as we did not have a proper dinner last night. We went to the fake KFC for our lunch. I ordered a very big piece of chicken cutlet. It was so big that i have to share it with 3 person in order to finish it. Then we proceeded to shop for our stuffs and i bought one belt for myself and a wallet for my sister. We also try many food from the road side stalls. When i fist came i did not dare to try the road side stalls as my mother told me that it is very dirty and may get food poisoning after eating eating. But it is such a waste if i do not try the road side stalls. The food taste delicious:D. As this is the third time we came here, we have almost combed the whole area. But i was still looking for the VANS shoe that i like. As i miss out one of the group outings with my other friends i did not have a chance to buy vans shoes with them. It was really a waste. After i bought a lemon sprite and we continue walking down the street until we are tired and we take a cab back to our dorm.

Day31
Haiz APPG lesson the whole again. Touch up on my mini project interface and think of what else can i still put on my interface. Mr ma also gave us back our theory test one. The feeling of taking back is definitely scary because i dun know whether i can pass a not. Thinking back when i was doing the paper, i did not know how to answer the last few questions. Luckily i got 52 marks just pass only, and i have to go for remedial because i got 60 and below. Anyway i will press on and not give up. Chapter 6 and 7 is like alien language to me dun even understand a bit. Need to work even harder because theory test 2 is coming. We will be having OBS on Monday where we will be doing a lot of activities such as rock climbing and many high elements. It will test our courage and strength and push us to our limit in order to complete the course. It is something to look forward to. Usual place for dinner but it tastes nicer this time cause we are hungry lol.

Day30
This morning is the continuous of yesterday IS class. Break for lunch and went for afternoon class which is IS again. Yesterday i did not prepare any thing to last me through the IS class. Today i well prepared, i brought along my lap top to watch movies if the lesson gets too boring. However to my surprise the classroom that we will be having does not have power plus and the table is incredibly small. Then today's IS lesson is very unique we need to put on headphone to listen to what the lecturer is saying. His voice is so soft and he sounds really weird.:) The IS class is about weddings and different cultures. As some of my classmates cannot take it anymore, they put their ear piece under the headphone to listen to music haha. Others play psp or just sleep. However, I think that the noon time one is more interesting because of the video clips. In Singapore, we adopt some of the ideas when someone is getting married like sending of betrothal gifts and choosing of auspicious date. After the lesson, we went to eat and i continue to do my mini project...

Today is IS class. It is about Chinese traditional thoughts it is basically about the history and some of the important people that made an impact on the teachings that have been past down. Pardon me for saying this i usually sleep during the lesson as it was too boring. And furthermore, today class lasts for 3 hours and there are about 170 slides whereby we need to summarise after the lesson. Even though we spilt up the work load among my group mates, i still have to summarise about 40 over slides. This is definitely a tough job that requires patience and time to do. I finally finish my interface and i will start to think of the codes for the programme. After lesson we went to play basketball, have dinner and went back to dorm to rest.

so we had appg again in the morning and afternoon. showed my lab 6 to mr ma. then completed chapter seven when i even have grasped anything in chapter 6. im really way behind class. even if i pay more attention, also no use because one. i dont understand what mr ma talking two. the class is really boring and so theory based. im so not cut out for computer programming. have to finish of lab seven by tomorrow. hais. Then i also have to start thinking of what i want to do for my miniproject. Going home soon in a few more weeks. For dinner we went to kfc again. i ordered a set meal plus chocolate sundae. The food is nice but it is a bit expensive. After dinner, headed back to dorm to rest for the day.

Woke up early in the morning because we need to clean up the barbecue pit that we messed up yesterday. However wenhao told us that we dun need to clean up the pit anymore so i went back to sleep.Thank you to the people who help us to clean up bbq pit.Finally, I am a little ahead. Mr Ma teaching us chapter 6 the whole lesson explaining how we should do the program so that we can understand. Lab 6 is very complicated a i dun understand some of the parts. Anyway i will try my best to understand all the things that i dun know. After lunch, we continue to do Lab 6 and ask questions to clear our queries. i really miss singapore a lot and i want to go back quickly.

Still in my dreams and diyana woke me up together with kangliang and penghoe cause she wanted to buy her jansport bag at Lu xiang plaza which she had already talked about for a few days. Every time she want to buy things we will remind her not to buy so that she will have enough money to buy her bag later. After buying her bag, we continue to shop around lu xiang and we stumpled upon a coolmax shop where penghoe bought a bag which cost 89 yuan and a few t shirts.Then we went to have sushi for breakfast becasue we have coupons. However, we found out that the coupon can only be used during weekdays. Anyway we still have our lunch there. After lunch, we went back to dorm to slack for a while and we went to a bbq organised by the china students. The only thing that surprise me was that there are no fire starters. We have to pick up dry grass and leaves to start a fire. We took about one hour plus just to start a fire. As i dun know much about how to start a fire, i went to help poke the food through the satay stick. The food that i enjoy most is the bun with honey. We also barbacue chicken wings but most of it turn out to be charred. As there are no lightnings there we have to use our handphone's flash to see whether the food is cooked a not. After the bbq we went back to our dorm to rest.

Day 25
Woke up later than ever. Thinking that i was late, i quickly rushed out of the dorm with my friends. To my surprise, the bus was not even there yet. To make matter worse, it was also raining heavily. As we have only one umbrella, me kangliang diyana and penghoe have share it. But we our jacket still got wet, and the temperature dropped until 8 degrees. Finally the bus came and we boarded it and headed to our destination. When we reached Wuhan Beach Park. the weather was still very bad. It is still raining very heavily. Left with no choice, the tour guide told us to go shopping at Jiang Han Bu Xing jie. However, there was no shelter from the park to Jiang Han Bu Xing jie. We have to run all the way. When we reach there, our clothes were already drenched. As the weather was really too cold, we went into a fast food restaurant to have our breakfast. This is the first time i see chicken rice in china. I ordered it straight away. But the taste is so different from singapore. Their rice is just plain rice, without any seasonings. The chicken tastes quite ok. In order to continue shopping, we have to buy an umbrella to shelter us for our remaining journey. We walked around but most of the shops sells branded goods which is about the price in singapore and it is not worth it to buy here. Went for a drink at starbucks. The place is so warm and the chairs that we sat on are very comfortable. It got the "home like feeling".We shopped around the mall and my friends and i bought ourselves playboy jackets which costs 200 yuan each. As we spent more than 500 dollars we got a lucky draw coupon and a voucher for collecting the "Blue Gem". When i first heard it, i thought that it was really something nice. But when we went to collect it. the gem is only a size of a rice. As for the lucky draw coupon, we won a bottle of drink. Can we consider ourselves lucky? Who knows. Then we went back to the park to meet the others. Due to the heavy rain and super low temperature, we decided not to visit the park. However, we went shopping near yellow crane tower. The things there are all quite cheap and there are a wide variety of clothes and shoes there. For dinner, we went to one of the food street which dave recommended us. The food there is delicious and i enjoy the banana split and the nian gao the most. After dinner, we sat a cab and went back to dorm.

Day24
Today is APPG theory test, i am quite worried because i dun know whether i can pass a not. But the test was postponed to 4 because we are suppose to visit to the YangTze Optical Fibre And Cable Company Lte. The journey there takes about one hour plus.When we reach there, Mr chua told us that we are not suppose to take any pictures in inside the premises. Pictures can only be taken at the entrance of the company and the main hall. The main hall has a lot of displays which shows the different processes in the making of the optical fibre. The person in charge there explain the fiber things to us and show us the thing on the display and tell us briefly about the process. In order to let us have a better understanding of the making process, we went to a place whereby we can watch short videos from a television, giving us a clearer view of what is going on. There are several check points whereby we can watch the videos. After watching several videos, we went back to main hall and the person tell us more about the cable and fibre. We return to our dorm after the visit to the company and had lunch at a nearby restaurant. The food tastes quite good. As we are still hungry we went to kfc to have dessert and i ordered a chocolate sundae. After lunch we went back to our classrooom to have the theory test. As the classroom is already full, we have to go to another classroom to have our test. In my opinion, i felt that the test was really difficult and some questions i dun even understand. However, i do not want to leave any question blank so i just write what comes through my minds if i don't know how to answer the questions. After the test, we went to eat dinner before going back to the dorm.

Morning APPG class, we went for class as usual. But tommorrow we will be having a theory class test. So for today's APPG lesson, we will be doing revison on pass year papers. Mr ma showed us the answer for the practical theory test on the projector and we tally the answers with ours. After checking all the answers, we went for lunch. Then continue APPG class, we went to KFC for dinner. I hope that i will be able to pass the test.

Day22
We have APPG class in the morning as usual. Doing labs and tutorials, the same routine. As for lunch, we went to KFC to have our lunch. I ordered a what is so called "bandito" it is chicken wrap in popiah skin. The taste is so much different from the one in singapore. In singapore, there is more suace and the chicken is also more crispy. In the afternoon, we went to lu xiang plaza because kangliang and arvind want to exchange money. They only left a few hundred yuan only.We went to sushi for dinner. We ate many plates of sushi and we stacked the plates until so high that the waiter come and tell us that if u stacked further more, the plates will topple.Kangliang, diyana and arvind order a plate of fried rice. We also ordered sakae which is actually wine. After ordering one bottle of sakae, we are like addicted to it. And we kept on drinking until the 3 bottle then we stop cause we scare that later when we get drunk, it will be very difficult to go back. After dinner, we went to the arcade to play game and we earned a total of 1000 plus tickets. Then we took a cab back to our dorm and rest for the night.

Day21
Today is the APPG lab test. I did not do the last part of the lab test dun know whether i will pass a not. Lets just pray hard that i can make it. After that me penghoe, arvind, diyana and wenhao went to a restaurant to eat our lunch we ordered 4dishes. However, we ordered one dish that got pork one. It is a big mistake because diyana and arvind cannot eat pork. In the end, we have to use spoon to take our food so that the food will not kena pork.After the afternoon class, we rest a while at the dorm and we proceeded to Hu Quan Ye Shi to shop. I did not buy much things mostly food from the road side stalls. After shopping, we took a taxi back to our dorm and rest for the day.

Day20
I hate it when it is raining day. Because the weather is very cold, we have to wear our windbreaker. Then our windbreaker will become very wet. We ran all the way to the class but we are still drenched. The first part of he APPG lesson, we did not do much things just slacking around. During lunch time, we went to canteen 3 to eat mixed rice. Surprisingly the dishes that we chosen were quite nice me and penghoe enjoy the meal. We will definitely go back there to eat again. Then me and arvind went to buy drinks for the rest. When i came back, arvind seat is being taken away by a china person. When i ask penghoe what happen he told me that that person just sit down and eat his food despite us telling him that the seat is already taken. I dun know why the people in china have this type of attitude. For the afternoon class, we do our trial lab test i feel that it is quite difficult to do. But slowly, i managed to understand the program. I return to the dorm to rest while penghoe and wenhao plus a few others went to the nearby supermarket to buy eggs and many packets of instant noodles. Plus we also buy a dozen of mineral water as we drink a lot of water one. At about 1 plus i went to bed.

Day19
Woke up at 6.20 when we are suppose to meet at 6.30. Lucky arvind come to our room and ring our door if not me and kangliang will still be sleeping. I rushed to the toilet and brushed my teeth. After dressing up we rushed downstairs to pass our keys to the tour guide and proceeded to the bus. When the tour guide ask us whether we got leave anything behind, i suddenly remember that i left my wallet in the drawer. I totally forget about it because i was rushing out. My friend Marc also left thing before. However his case is much worse than mine. He left the whole luggage in the room. Then we rushed back to the room immediately to take our things. If not for the tour guide, my wallet will be lost by now. When i heard that breakfast will be at the same place as yesterday, my spirit sank. After eating at the same restaurant for 3 times i am starting to feel sick with the food there. After eating our breakfast, we went back up to wudang mountain. But this time sitting cable car up. When we reach the queueing point there is already a lot of people there. When queueing up to board the cable car, a lot things happen. A china lady carry her son and put him in the queue just behind us. Then she walked away. But after a while, she come back with her whole family and friends and they wanted to climb over the railings and cut the queue. I learn a new thing in china which is never to leave gaps in between the queue as the china people will just cut in. Our tour guide cannot stand it any more. She ask the security come and the security chased all of them out of the queue. The lady that put her son in the queue is not happy and she try to argue back however a lot of us are looking at her. I think that she is embarrassed so she just walk away.
Finally it is our turn to board the cable car. I took the same cable car as jayden we took some pictures and look at the scenery from the cable car. When we reached the top we go find the rest and went to climb up to take more pictures. After taking pictures we slowly made our way down to take the cable car down.We also take many jump shots whereby we jump up and we take the picture while we are in mid air.While we are taking the jump shot, kanglinag accidentally whacked my face, ouch. After dinner, we took bus back to the dorm. The journey is going to take another 6 hours. We need to thank our bus driver because he drive non stop for 6 hours. Only taking a rest at certain check points. We also sang songs during the last few hours of our bus journey. I also sing a few songs together the other people. Although their voice is not that good, we still enjoy ourselves. As we arrive in WUST quite late, Mr chua decided to to push back the time for class to 10a.m.THANK YOU TEACHERS. Back to dorm and rest.

Day18
The journey to Wudang mountain take about 5 to 6 hours. Imagine siting in the bus for so many hours and the bus only stop at certain places to allow us to go to the wash room. I sit until my back and butt start to ache. Left with no choice, i decided to sleep as it is the best way to relieve the pain. We had our lunch at a restaurant. The food there taste quite good. And i managed to eat 3 bowls of rice. This is first time i eat so much during my stay in china. After lunch, we took a bus to go up to wudang mountain. The three places that we visited are Tai Zi Gong, Zi Xiao Gong and Nanyan Gong. At the three places, we took many pictures and enjoy the fresh air there. Then i saw a very unique thing. There is stall that sell necklace. But the necklace is not any other ordinary necklace. The shop owner can crave anything on a grain of rice and put it into a gem whereby u can wear it. His skill is very good he is able to engraved my name on it in just a few mins on a small grain of rice. Time is running short, after buying the necklace, we rushed to the bus to go to the same restaurant to have dinner. After dinner, we took a bus ride which is about 3 mins to check into our hotel. To my suprise, although the outer look of the hotel looks very normal the room is quite well furnished and the bed is so much better than our dorm one. It is much more comfortable and there are also a wider variety of show on tv. We also went out to see if there is anything to buy. But after walking around, there is nothing else to buy. We bought drinks and slowly made our way back to our hotel and rest.

Day17
The morning class is APPG like other days we go there and do our tutorial and labs. However, today we need to think about what we want to do for our mini project. Time to crack my brain again. Furthermore it is an individual work and it is very hard for us to discuss. At night, we went to Hu Quan night market. When i first step into the place, it looked very messy and water everywhere plus there is also a foul smell. My friend once told me that in china, they sell all sorts of foods. Today i finally get to see what they really sell. In the cages, there are rabbits and procupines. You must be asking porcupines can eat? But in china, anything is possible. There are also fish and frogs there. However, once we step inside of Hu Quan night market it is not so bad after all there are a lot of shops inside selling all sort of accessories. The price is also very cheap. If you think that the price is too high, you can argue with them. If they still insist on the same price, you can just walk away. Some times they will call you to come back.At the night market, i bought many t-shirts plus wallet.Today i got my results, did not do very well. Anyway it is too late to regret now. Work hard then.

Day16
Have our usual APPG lesson. After getting help from my friend i finally finish Lab 4. As we carry on, it is getting more and more difficult to understand. As there is not much thing to do in the afternoon, we decided to play basketball. We play ABC which is a shooting place whereby we shoot the ball at different points on the court. Then we decided to call Marc, Benson and jayden to join us so that we can play a 4v4 game. We played the basketball match without any rules that why it is so fun. Then Marc take the ball and run and he score. We laugh and joke around, it is one of best match i play. After we play, we went back to the dorm and eat instant noodles for dinner. After resting a while we went to sleep.

Day15
As the lesson starts later than usual, i woke up quite late. Today is Is class and we are supppose to have china business strategies and etiquette lectures. The slides are way too much and i see until my eyes become very blur. After trying to concentrate for about 30 mins. i finally start to doze off. The lecturer's accent also sounded very weird and i do not understand some of the things that he is saying. The lecture end at about 11 plus and we went to have our lunch. Then we went back to have our afternoon lessons. We divided our work among the 4 of us. Kangliang and wenhao do the summary of business strategies while me and penghoe do the summary on business etiquette. After completing it, we went to place where they sell all the elcetronics thing. The pricing for the things there is not cheap some is even more expensive than the one in singapore. I wanted to buy razer mouse but it is too expensive. After that we went to have fast food. We order one spring and share among us. Gloves are also provided to prevent our hands from getting oily. Then we took a cab back. After meeting up at Mr Ma's dorm we went back and rest.

Day14
We must wake up at 6.30 because today we are suppose to visit the steel factory. After washing up, we went to entrance and get ready to board the bus. When everyone gathered, we set off. The bus took us to another branch of WUST to change to meet up with the other Ngee Ann students to go to the steel factory together. The journey takes about one hour plus. In order to enter the factory, we need to wear the helmet they provide. But the helmet is black and smelly. It is like they never change the helmet for many years. No helmet means no entry. Left with no choice, i finally wear it. We walk like 10 minutes in the steel factory, we just see it burn and then roll into a roll of steel and the steel passed many cooling zones. The hot air also brush at my face. After that we took a bus to Lu Xiang plaza. It took about 3 hours plus before we reach there. The road is so uneven. The bus keep jerking left and right, up and down. We could not even sleep properly. My head hit the window too. We decided to have our lunch at pizza hut. However, the pricing is about the same as Singapore. At first we decided to leave. However, it is very bad to just leave like that. Then Marc, jayden and Benson decided to leave but the rest of us stay. Afternoon class start at about 3. The lesson is very boring. Later in the night, we went to the mini mart to stock up our food. After that we washed up and went to bed.

Day13
Normal routine as usual. I am always late when the class starts at 8 or 9. Have to rush like crazy so that i will not be even more late. There is 2 way to get to our classroom. One of the way the slope is very steep and we need to use a lot of energy to walk up the slope. Therefore we use another way to go to our classroom. We have APPG class today. Lab 3 is quite difficult to do. I think i need to practice more in order to catch up. Lunch break, we went to the nearby canteen to have our lunch. Tonight's activity is very special. We are having a social interaction with the students in china. It is very touching to see the china students spend their time to organise this program for us. When we reach there, we were each given a poker card and we were grouped accordingly to the number on the card. At first, my group did not even have anyone that i know. When i sit down 3 china students join me. At first i did not say any thing. Then one of the student ask me for my name and the talking starts. Then Sebastian came and join my group. I can still remember the number on the poker card = 5. The food is also quite nice. There is fried banana and a few other fried food. The host for the show is very comical and he never fails to entertain us. The singing part is also very nice. The girl who sang Stefanie sun songs really sounds like her. My friends also sang a few songs and Sebastian group also perform Indian dance. The last performance for the day is that they mimic other people songs. The performance is very funny. After the program we helped to clean up the area and arrange the tables and chairs properly. What a fruitful night, got to know more friends and what the students in china usually do. They are quite suprised that we are able to speak chinese. They also say that our english is very fluent some of the student even ask me to teach her english. Thank you for what had been organised for us.

Day 12
Did not have a good sleep yesterday because have to share bed with my room mate KangLiang. When i woke up, my back start to ache and i had leg cramp. Then we have breakfast at the same place as yesterday. After breakfast, we gave our room keys to the tour guide and checked out from our room. Next destination is Yichang the journey takes about 4 hours plus. We went to a supermarket to see if there is any thing to buy. After walking around i finally bought a box of tea leaves and some tibits. Furthermore, the toilet there is also very dirty the water that come out from the tap is yellow in colour. Then i still use the water to rinse my mouth cause i did not notice until my friend told me about it. Once again we boarded the bus and after many many hours we finally reached WUST. Travelling in wuhan is definitely a very diffcult task to do. To get from one place to another it usually takes a few hours.I still think that singapore is better. No matter where u go you will never get lost because it is just too small. As it way too boring, we decided to play some sports. Just nice, khoon fong bought a volley so we decided to go to the court near our dorm to play volley ball. At first i did not know the proper way to play the game. However, under the guidance of marc and benson i slowly get use to the game. Benson our coach of the day taught us some of the skills to play volley ball. As there is still time, we proceeded to play netball. It is the first time i ran since i come china. The air is very dry here therefore very hard to breathe. Nonetheless, i still enjoyed it. At about 7 plus we went for our dinner before having our meeting at Mr ma place. After meeting, sleeping time.

Day11
The tour guide told us yesterday night that there will be music played through the PA system to wake us up however; we could not hear anything in the morning. Later we found out that only the people on the 4th floor can hear the sound. If not for the tour guide whom knocked on my room door I and my roommate kangliang will still be sleeping. The temperature in the room is extremely cold as the heater in my room is not working. There are a lot of people outside my room as my room is located just beside the place where we have our meal. I wanted to bath but the water is way too cold so I decided to skip it. After I washed up, I went to have breakfast. The breakfast is very normal. The dishes are also not very nice. The porridge is bland plus the boiled egg is also very cold. The only dish that is nice is the peanuts. As there is still time, we went back to our room to slack and rest for a while before we take another boat to Shen Nong which takes about one hour plus. The scenery there is very nice and the air is very fresh. The mountains are also very high and the water in the river is also crystal clear. We can see what is at the bottom of the river. To get a better view of Shen Nong Jiang, we sit a small wooden boat. The people who rowed the boat are all very strong. They are all well build. Last time the people who rolled the boat do not wear any clothes thus many of them injured themselves because the boat is too heavy to pull. Now their attire is short pants and shirt and they wear grass shoe. There is a part of the river which is very narrow. The people have to get down the boat. Before they get down, they must attach a rope to the boat and pull the boat to direct us through the narrow course. The people who lived here lead a very carefree. They must have trained about for a very long time in order to pull a boat with a lot of people which weigh about 500kg. After the tour, we went back to our room and slept for a while before we went for our lunch. Almost all the dishes are spicy and the fish is full of bone. At about 7 plus, we went to the temple. In order to go up to the temple, we need to climb all a lot stairs. Once we reached there, the people there offer us joss stick to pray. I donated 10 yuan to the temple. The flight of steps is like never ending I climbed until my legs become very tired and my leg start to ache. Once we reached the top, we listen to the story about the three kingdoms and the tour guide tells us about the history of the three kingdoms. As the history part is too boring me Diyana, kangliang, penghoe and arvind went around taking pictures. We had dinner quite late. After that we went back to our room to sleep.

Day10
Today is the day that we will be departing for a 3 day 2 night cruise to see the “Three Gorges” located at Yichang Hubei province of China. Because of counter strike all my dorm people could not wake up. When I woke up it is already about time to go for meeting. I took a quick bath and headed to the meeting point. The bus trip is very long from Wuhan to Yichang, it takes about 4 hours plus another one hour journey to the 3 gorges. During the 4 hour journey, a lot of us fall asleep. We had our lunch at a 4 stars restaurant at Yansha Dajiudian. The food there can be considered quite good compare to the food in WUST university canteen. The students from other courses also join us for lunch. After eating, we went back to the bus and headed for the 3 gorges. The scenery there was very beautiful. The tour guide explains to us when the dam was build and the size of it. It is one of the biggest dams in china and it is the pride of many china people. Building this definitely cost a bomb. We took many pictures there plus group photos and went back to the same restaurant to have our dinner. Their dishes for lunch and dinner all looked the same. We are like eating the same food all over again. We had a very rushing dinner as time is running short for us. We are already late for the cruise. Once we boarded the cruise, we were given the keys to our room. The room is very small and my head almost touch the ceiling. After putting down our belongings, we went to the deck of the ship if is at the 4th floor of the ship to assemble to see the boat slowly rising up the dam. We then went back to our room to play cards until 2 plus and went to sleep.

Day 9
Due to the rain, we reached class later than usual. It is also raining quite heavily and the temperature dropped until very low. However we still take our own sweet time to walk to class. Today lesson is on APPG topic 2. Topic 2 is super difficult I had a hard time understanding it. We need to understand the basics well first before we can proceed. During lunch, me arvind, penghoe, and khoon fong ate fried rice while the rest ate the china’s version of roti prata with one egg wrapped in the middle. We went for our afternoon class and we were dismissed earlier than usual. As we are going to the three gorges tomorrow and khoon fong, yongxin and Diyana do not have windbreaker so we accompanied them to the nearby shopping centre to buy their windbreaker. At night we have some interaction with the china students. A friendly match was also held. After much struggling, we finally won the game with a score of 61 to 54.... What a close shave. That match was definitely an exciting game. To get ready for tomorrow’s trip to the 3 gorges, we went to the bread shop to buy food. After playing counter strike we packed our things and all of us went to bed as we are already very shag.

Day8
The weather varies a lot. And the temperature kept on changing. Due to this, many people fall sick due to the weather. I had a hard time waking up cause last night I stayed up to watch soccer with arvind. After I washed up, I get ready to go for class. As my roommate kangliang got bring vitamin C, I put the vitamin tablet into a glass of water and drank it before I go out for class. The class is as boring as usual I almost fall asleep. We are supposed to present our PowerPoint slides to the class. Because of time constraint, only a few groups get the chance to present. All the groups’ presentation is very detailed but very boring. After class, I went to have lunch. As we are all very tired, we decided to ask wenhao and kangliang to go out and buy KFC for us while we wait at our dorm. I ate zinger meal. The worst thing is that the mayonnaise got the taste of wasabi. I think that they put use the same bottle to contain both the wasabi and mayonnaise. After that we continue to have our afternoon class and went for dinner after that plus shopping at the road side stalls near WUST. The best part of the day is when the girls help us to clean our dorm. The feeling of stepping on the floor is totally different from before it was cleaned. Having a clean environment now I went to bed straight away.

Day 7
First time doing APPG we went to class to listen. After listening to Mr Chua explanation, we started to do our lab 1a, 1b, 1c. As my Microsoft Visual Studio is only 2005 I can only do la and 1c. Both of the labs are still quite manageable. After getting the 2008 version I started to do lab 1c. At about 12 plus we went to have our lunch at canteen 1 me and penghoe ordered dry noodles. At first it tasted quite ok but as I ate on the taste started to get worse. I should have ordered the same food as kangliang and wenhao. At least their egg noodle looks and taste much better than my dry noodles. Getting used to the food is definitely a very tough job to do as I have been leaving in Singapore for 16 years suddenly, a drastic change in the environment. I really hoped that I will be able to get use to it soon. After eating lunch we headed back to our hostel and slack for a while. But arvind suggest that we should play counter strike cause it is really too boring. Time flies very fast when you are playing game. In a blink of an eye it is already time for us to go for our afternoon class. During the afternoon class, we continue to do our lab assignments. After APPG, we went out to have our dinner at a shop that sells duck and other dishes like fried noodles and fried rice. However none of the dishes caught my attention and I decided to skip my dinner. Kangliang ordered a bowl of dumplings I ate one of his dumplings it’s taste is so different from Singapore one. Since we have nothing to do after dinner, we decided to play volleyball. Me, marc and wenhao one team versus Benson, kangliang and jayden. As wenhao is quite good in volleyball we won eventually. Later khoon fong and yongxin also join us. I did not volleyball is so hard to play. I play until there are bruises on my arm. Late in the evening, we are supposed to meet up in Mr Ma room for briefing. However, as Mr Chua is not able to make it for the meeting, Mr Ma only took our attendance and we went back to our room to rest. I think that APPG is a subject that needs a lot of practice in order to understand it. We need to work harder in order for us to pass the module.

Day 6, we woke up early in the morning to prepare for our 8a.m lesson. Once I stepped into the class there was a female china teacher in the class. The teacher is very beautiful. At first I thought that I will not be able to understand her accent. However I am surprise that her English is very fluent and I understand everything that she is saying. The lesson is about the history and culture of Wuhan. She showed us the slides on the desktop which is allocated on each table. But the lesson is way too boring that I start falling asleep. Maybe I do not have any interest in history because I also used to sleep during my history lessons in my secondary school. We ended up sleeping and chit chatting with each other. Then lunch time came and we went to eat our lunth and proceeded back to class for our IS lesson. For our IS lesson we need to do a summary of Wuhan and Hubei history. The big problem comes now just now my group was not listening to the lecturer therefore we have no clue about what she was talking about just now. Left with no choice we have to “steal” some ideas from other groups in order to hand in our work. In order to speed things up we broke up into 2 groups. 2 of us do the summary of Wuhan and another 2 to the summary on Hubei. After submitting our summary we went to back to our hostel and rest for w while before setting off for our dinner. As we were walking pass out of the university, we discuss about what to eat for dinner our eyes rested upon a shop that is selling duck. The shop also sells baby duck which is black in colour. I ordered a drum stick but it is one of the worst foods I ever ate. It is very cold and spicy. My others friends ordered dumplings. I regretted ordering the drum because it really tasted horrible. When we go back to the hostel, me arvind jayden, benson and marc played counter strike till late night before we went to bed.

Day5
Sunday is a free day for us, so I slept until 12 before waking up and discussing with my friends what to do for that day. After washing up, we decided to go to lu xiang plaza for our lunch. 15 minutes have passed and our bus was still nowhere in sight. Suddenly a uncle approached us and asked us whether we want to take his van to lu xiang plaza which only cost $4 per person. Although it is a little more expensive than the normal public bus, we do not have to squeeze with other people and we can sit down. The time taken to travel there also shortened which saves us a lot of time. When we reached there, there were already a lot of people there because it is the san ba fu nu jie. There was also a stage set up for some fashion show. As for lunch, we decided to eat MacDonald. I bought filet fish and we sit outside the MacDonald and have our lunch. After that we went shopping and 2 of the girls decided to go for manicure. So while waiting, the rest of us decided to go play pool. We played for about 2 hours before meeting up with them and we proceeded to take the van again back to our hostel. For dinner, we went to the restaurant which is famous for its fish ball. However, the fish ball tasted like jelly only the soup is nice. We also ordered another 2 dish. Yet another day had passed and we slowly walked back to our hostel.

Day4
Another brand new day. Woke up at about 7 and after getting ready our belongings, my group and I headed to the front gate of Wuhan university. After boarding the bus we headed towards Wuhan Dong Hu which was one of the tourist attraction sites. It was the first trip of our day. Upon arriving there we were approached by a few china people who asked us whether we want to take the mini tour bus because walking around the lake will take some time. After discussion, we decided to take the mini bus. However, the bad thing about it was that cold wind will brush across your face. I was shivering and my hands kept on shaking. We stop at certain check points to take pictures. The scenery there is magnificent.

Ok enough of the hu Bei Lake. Next stop was the Hubei provincial museum the tour guide told us that Chu reached the summit of pre-Qin ideological civilization of Lao zi and Zhuang zi is part if Chinese culture. Chu literature, notably qu yuan’s poems and Zhuang zi essays, was the source of Chinese romanticism. The Chu people, with their extraordinary imagination and creativity, attained glorious achievements in many fields of art, especially in music, dance, painting and sculpture. One of the items that left me an unforgettable memory is the figurine with camel-riding which is unearthed from tomb 2 in Wangshan, Jiangling in 1965. Half way through the journey we went out to get some food. I ended up eating a sausage which tastes very oily and skin is hard. After that I help arvind to buy chicken burger because he cannot eat pork. I could feel that he is very happy because nobody wanted to buy for him. Then we sat down and eat our food. When it is time for us to board the bus we proceed to it. Something hilarious happened. Subsequently we went to have our lunch. But we didn’t have our lunch because the food didn’t seem appealing to us. We went to the meeting point. I didn’t know that stepping on the grass is illegal in china and the policeman asked me to step off the grass.

After everybody gathered together, we climb up the stairs we stop at the first and second storey took some pictures and then we decided to head straight up to the highest level of the yellow crane tower. Yellow crane tower is indeed a very windy place never ascend it without wearing jacket during the cold seasons because you will end up shivering like me. Suddenly I hear a loud “dong” sound. Out of curiosity, we headed towards the bell but we need to pay money to try out the bell. The thing that got me amazed was that even if we want to use the lift we also have to pay money. After the visit to the yellow crane tower, we headed back to Wuhan University and prepare to go for our dinner. We went to the restaurant near Wuhan University and have our dinner. We ordered three dishes whereby 2 dishes were chicken and the other one is cabbage because arvind cannot eat pork and beef. The food was so spicy that I start to sweat in such a cold weather. The whole group of us could not finish the food that we ordered and a lot of food was left over. The cabbage was the best dish because it is not spicy and the sauce for the cabbage is very tasty. Then we went to the shops nearby to see if there is anything to buy. After one whole day of sightseeing and shopping my friends and i headed back to the hostel for a good night rest and get ready for the next day.

Day 3
Rise and shine, we are supposed to meet up at 9.00p.m. After washing up, we proceeded to the classroom for our first lesson in Wuhan. Hearing that u must present our presentation to the class my group started to panicked because we did not prepare for the presentation. We took out our laptop and started to spilt what each person is suppose to say. The first 2 group went to present first. Due to time constraint the other group were to present another day. We went to canteen 1 to have our lunch after our class. After lunch, we proceed back to class and continue to research on our IS project. As for dinner, we went to the KFC to have our dinner. As my pant is very dirty I decided to wear short pants to KFC Kangliang is also wearing short pants. The people on the street looked at us like we are some aliens. We started laughing. It was definitely an enjoyable day and I learn not to wear short pants out during the cold seasons in Wuhan as it seriously attract too much attention.

Day 2
“Ring Ring”, my alarm rang but I am still lying in bed reusing to wake up. Suddenly, someone took away my blanket. Opened my eyes and saw kangliang I immediately woke up because it was too cold. I went to the toilet to wash up, without the slippers never think of stepping out of the room because once we step on the floor it is like stepping on ice. After everybody got ready, we headed towards the canteen. In order to allow us to buy food without using cash, we use the card to buy the food. But we have to top up our card at the cashier outside the canteen. I bought soybean milk and a few bao. Although the food was not to my liking, Mr Chua told us to get use to the food. The first shopping mall that I went is Lu xiang plaza it is one of the biggest plaza in Wuhan. We went to the bus stop outside the university as there is a direct bus to the plaza. The shops there are much more than shops in Singapore shopping centres. There are also a wide variety of foods whereby we can choose from. However there is a person in my group which cannot eat pork and beef he none other than arvind. Every time we go for meals, we have to crack our brains to find food for him. He can only eat food that only has chicken. The smell of fried chicken lingers into my nose and me and wenhao went to buy one packet each. Our legs start to get numb and we decided to go back to the dorm. We went to the bus stop outside the plaza and waited for bus 901. However after waiting for about 20 minutes, our bus still haven comes. Left with no choice, we took 501 it was definitely a decision that it is so wrong. I look out of the window and found out that the environment around us was totally different from what I have seen. Suddenly, the bus stopped the driver told us that it is the last stop and we have to go down the bus. We are surrounded by many factories. One word to describe the feeling at that moment, “stun”. After waiting a while a taxi came all 5 of us wanted to squeeze into the taxi but the driver refuse to take all of us. Thus we have to take 2 taxi. Upon reaching the hostel we washed up and went to bed.

Woke up early in the morning dragged my feet off my bed cause I will be away from my family members and my lovely bed for 6 weeks. The worse thing is that I will not be able to play games with my friends. However, thinking of the things and activities that I will be doing, my spirits lifted up and i went to have a hot shower and my parents accompanied me to the airport for my departure to wuhan. As the airport is quite far from my house we took a taxi to the airport. I arrived at the airport at about 5.00a.m and met my friends. We assemble at the near the front of the gate. After collecting our passport we check in our luggage and we proceeded to the departure. I bid my last farewell to my parents and get ready to up the plane. The plane we are talking is a china airline although the plane is very small the services that the air steward and stewardess cover up all that. They all wore smiles on their faces. First, they serve us drink I order orange juice. Unlike the Singapore airlines, the china does not have a small to TV behind the chair. Left with no choice, after the plane took off I take out my mp3 to listen to songs. Here comes the food, although the desserts do not taste good the main dish was still ok. There is no direct flight to Wuhan therefore we have to take a transit flight from Guangzhou. The security there is very strict. Before the plane touched down the air stewardess reported to us about the temperature of Wuhan. It is about 5 degree I immediately took out my jacket and wore it. Just when I step out of the plane, cold air brushed across my face and it sent shivers down my spine. Smoke was also coming out of my mouth. About 5 plus the plane landed on Wuhan and we headed towards the Wuhan University. After collecting our keys, we went to our dorm. I share my room with kangliang he was complaining that the room is very cold. As I share the same view as him i went to find the controller for the heater in my room. Here comes my first plate of food in china. I ordered a plate of gong bao ji ding. To my surprise, the food there is very salty and oily. I left my whole plate of food on the table. The cucumber they put is like free because the whole plate of food is full of cucumber. After a very “delicious” dinner I headed back to my dorm and sleep.
